Second post on the blog in a month, I think that’s a record for this year. I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, there’s just been a lot on and I haven’t really been in the headspace for it but I do know that I feel happy when I’m writing and photographing and creating and I love the sense of achievement I feel when I hit publish on a post. So this is me making an early New Years resolution to do more than 10 posts next year. This month Lush Cosmetics gave me a reason to blog again and I’m very grateful for that and the haul they so generously gifted of their amazing Christmas collection. So read on for my hot take on the products.
Today officially marks one month til Christmas so it’s the perfect day to share the Lush Christmas Collection with you all! I was lucky enough to be sent an assortment of products from the collection and I’ve been using them all for a few weeks now so I have my favourites and some thoughts.
There wasn’t a post last week because last Wednesday I was on the plane to Fiji for the majority of the day. I went on an amazing little pre-Christmas getaway for five days to the island of Denarau. It was the most fun trip with four other girls, laying on the beach, drinking cocktails, tanning and making friends with the bartenders at the hotel pool.
Merry Christmas you filthy animals! Last day of blogmas and I’m not going to lie, it’s been tough as you’ve probably noticed from the rapid decline in the quality of my posts. Today was filled with pavlova, ice cream pudding and mince pie making as well as last minute wrapping, cleaning and laying out all the presents. The excitement has been quickly building amongst everyone in the house, especially little Teddy pup.
I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas wherever you are and that Santa brings the goods!
Yesterday (and until the early hours of this morning) was my work Christmas party and it really reenforced how lucky I am to work where I do. I absolutely adore my work family and they’re a huge part of who I am.
I’ve worked at the same cafe for just over three years, since I was 16. They’ve all in their own little (and big ways) helped to make me the person I am today. Aside from the people the job itself has made me grow into a more confident person and I would recommend a role in hospitality to anyone, the skills you learn and the experiences you have can be applied in almost any other life situation.
I’m stupidly in love with my work mamas and sisters and friends and they’re right up there with the most important people in my life. Not just for their friendship and support (which is a huge part) but for who they’ve helped me to become. You know you’re onto a good thing when you miss work over the holidays.
