Second post on the blog in a month, I think that’s a record for this year. I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, there’s just been a lot on and I haven’t really been in the headspace for it but I do know that I feel happy when I’m writing and photographing and creating and I love the sense of achievement I feel when I hit publish on a post. So this is me making an early New Years resolution to do more than 10 posts next year. This month Lush Cosmetics gave me a reason to blog again and I’m very grateful for that and the haul they so generously gifted of their amazing Christmas collection. So read on for my hot take on the products.
Bath products are what originally drew me to Lush and the assortment of bubble bars, bath bombs and melts in this collection continue the legacy. They all belong to either a citrus-y energising scent family or a calming, sweet lavender and wood flavour. Christmas Cracker is filled with popping candy and scented with lemon myrtle and lime for a softening bath with a bit of fun. The Magic of Christmas reusable bubble bar is probably the most traditionally Christmas scented of the bunch I was sent with cinnamon, star anise and clove with the spices helping circulation and almond oil for smoothing, hydrating bubbles. Butterbear is a favourite of mine from years back, he’s too cute and the many butters and oils make for the most hydrating, softest bath water with a light vanilla and ylang ylang scent. Sherbet Dip is the perfect product for our Summer Christmas with light and bright citrus scents of grapefruit oil and Sicilian lemon oil. The Luxury Lush Pud is the most colourful of the bunch and is all about calming in the face of family get-togethers and inducing restful sleep with lavender and tonka. Cause we all need some me time during the festive season, I’d recommend any of the bath bar, bombs or melts for a Secret Santa and adding an extra for yourself so you can take a minute to relax.
The Shower Cream range is one of my favourites because being lazy it allows me to skip post-shower moisturising as the creams are packed with hydrating cocoa butter and the Santa’s Christmas cream smells like CocaCola with a coffee and spice kick. To up the in-shower moisturising even more Snow Fair body conditioner smells of sugar and sweets and I cannot get enough of it at the moment (and really every Christmas when it’s released) for it’s smoothing and nourishing cocoa, avocado and mango butters and long lasting, good enough to eat scent. Once Upon a Time is new this year and is the nicest light lotion for apple-scented limbs that are soft and smooth. Santa Baby is my favourite red lip balm and this is probably the third pot and tube I’ve gone through because it’s just a great red stain that looks perfectly undone smudged into my lips. And of course the Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub can’t be forgotten for its caster sugar scrubby power and jojoba and orange oils as the perfect pre-tint preparation.
Lush has done a cool thing this year with their soaps, shower gels and creams, body conditioners, lip balms and scrubs in the range with all of them available packaged and, for a more environmentally friendly festive season, naked. The Naked range is a huge step toward limiting waste and all the packaging of the other products is recycled, recyclable or reusable and with everything in the store nothing is tested on animals. Plus, every product in the Christmas range is also vegan so you can feel good about your purchases knowing you’re doing your bit for the planet.
The range is available online and in-store until Christmas Eve with dozens of other products alongside what’s listed here for the perfect Secret Santa gifts, plus the gift boxes are amazing for when you can’t quite decide. Thanks again to Lush for making my Christmas come early this year.
Thank you so much for reading!
